Jebediah’s long-awaited 20th anniversary tour thrilled fans across the nation thoughout June and it appears the West Aussie alt-rock outfit don’t want the fun to end, extending their celebrations to include regional Australia.
Who could blame them?
Throughout August Jebs followers in Darwin, North Queensland, Mount Buller, Newcastle, Wollongong and Hobart will have the opportunity to experience the nineties again as the band plays their 1997 debut album Slightly Odway in its absoluteness.
Joining the quartet for their Hobart gig is Brisbane band and old friends Fur, who recently returned to the stage after a long hiatus. Openers for the other shows have yet to be announced.
Having just finished a run of sold-out performances in five states across the country, Jebediah are more than ready for the second leg of their tour.
Here’s what the Perth foursome had to say about the announcement:
“What a wonderful Twentieth Anniversary tour we’ve had. Thank you to everyone who made our shows so incredibly special. It has honestly been one of the true highlights of our twenty years as a band. We can’t thank you all enough. In fact we are all a little overwhelmed. We can’t wait for August when we’ll hit the highways to do it all again with our cherished regional fans.”
Despite a career peppered with hiatuses and side projects, Jebediah’s undeniable chemistry and long-lasting friendship have helped maintain a loyal fan base – one that has relished the opportunity to be a part of the band’s resurgence.
Fans can now get their hands on Jebediah’s twentieth anniversary album Twenty – covering songs from five past albums, including debut breakthrough single Jerks of Attention and She’s Like A Comet. The record is also available as a limited edition collectors vinyl set.
